அதிமேதாவி யார்?....

ஒருவர் மிகுந்த அறிவாளியாகவும், புத்திசாலியாகவும் இருந்தால் அவரை மேதாவி என்று அழைப்போம். அவருடைய மேதாவிலாசத்தை கணக்கிட I.Q. test செய்கிறார்கள். பல தரப்பட்ட கேள்விகள் கேட்கப்படும். அதற்குக் குறிப்பிட்ட நேரத்திற்குள் பதில் அளிக்கவேண்டும்.அதை வைத்து அவருடைய I.Q. அளவிடப்படும்.

உதாரண்மாக ஒரு 10 வயதுப் பையன் 13 வயது பையனுக்கான் திறைமையுடன் பதில் அளித்தால் அவனுடைய I.Q. 13/10 X 100 =130. (100 சராசரி I.Q. ஆகும்) இதற்கு மேல் இருந்தால் அவர் மேதாவி (Genius). I.Q. test Alfred Binet ( French Psycologist) என்பவரால் 1908ல் புதிதாகக் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது (Invented).

1939ல், David Wechsler ( American Psycologist) என்பவர், இதே கொள்கையைப் பின்பற்றி, ஒரு முறையைக் கண்டுபிடித்தார். இவர் முறைப்படி ஒருவருடைய I.Q.வை இன்னொருவருடைய I.Q.விற்கு ஒப்பிட்டுப் பார்க்கலாம்.

லாரென்ஸ் ச்ர்வகலாசலையைச் சேர்ந்த Dr. Allan Searleman என்பவர I.Q. level கண்டுபிடிக்க ஒரு சுலபமான வழி சொல்கிறார். அதாவது ஒரு பந்தை மேலே எறிந்து அதை காண்டிடேட்டைப் பிடிக்க சொல்லனுமாம். அந்தக் காண்டிடேட் இடது கையால் பிடித்தால் அவனுடைய I.Q.140க்கு மேல் இருக்குமாம்.

ஆனால் இதிலும் சிலர் குறைந்த I.Q. உள்ளவர்களும் இருக்க வாய்பு உண்டாம்.

எந்தத் தலைப்பில் ஒரே கருத்தைப் பற்றித் தொடர்ந்து விவாதங்கள் வந்திருக்கின்றனவோ அவைகளுக்குச் சிறிதேனும் சம்பத்தப் பட்ட விஷயங்களை அதே தலைப்பில் எழுதவது தான் உகந்தது என்ற கருத்துடையவன் என்று முன்பே கூறியிருக்கிறேன். நானும் ஒரு இடது கைக்காரன் ('நொட்டாங்கையன்', 'பீச்சக்கையன்' இன்னும் பல பெயர்களுண்டு). இந்தத் தலைப்புக்கு சம்பத்தப்பட்ட என் கதையை 'இரட்டையர்கள் தினமான ஆகஸ்ட் மாதம் 13ம் தேதி அன்றைக்கு எழுதலாம் என்று தள்ளிப்போட்ட எனக்கு உடல் நலம் சரியாக இல்லாத காரணாத்தினால், எழுத்துப் பிழைகள் இருக்கின்றனவா இல்லையா என்றும் யோசியாமல், என்னைப் போல் இடதுகைக் காரர்களுக்கு வாழ்த்துக்கள் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன்.

1992ல் ஆகஸ்ட் மாதம் 13ம் தேதி யாரோ தொடக்கிவைத்த யாரோ துவக்கி வைத்த தினம் இன்று உலகெங்கும் பரவலாகி வருகிறது. தற்செயலாக எனக்கு அது தெரிந்தவுடன் நானும் அதன் உருபினரானேன் (member). எனக்கு இத்துடன் நான் அனுப்பியிருக்கும் வாழ்த்துக்களும் ஒரு ஆங்கிலப் பாட்டும் நேற்று வந்தன. மற்றவை உடல்நிலை சரியான பிறகு.
