1. Navratri Special
Navratri is a festival of worship and devotion. The word Navaratri literally means nine nights in Sanskrit; Nava - Nine and Ratri - nights. During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Shakti (metaphor for goddess Durga ) i.e. female divinity are worshipped. Shakti is the root of everything. Navratri commences on the first day (pratipada) of the bright fortnight of the Hindu lunar month of Ashwin. The festival is celebrated for nine nights twice every year. The dates of the festival are determined according to the Hindu lunar calendar, the festival may be held for a day more or a day less. Among the nine goddesses worshipped during the sacred period of Navratra festival for the fulfilment of all desires, first comes Maa Shailputri i.e. daughter of Himalaya. On the first day of the Navratra festival, it is a provision of worshipping goddess Bhagwati riding over a buffalo. Maa is holding a lotus flower in her right hand. in her earlier birth she was born as a daughter of King ‘Daksh Prajapati’. At that time her name was ‘Sati’ and she was married to lord Shanker. Maa Shailputri is owner of all powers. The Yogis and the devotees establish themselves over Mooladhat Chakra i.e. the starting point of Sadhna (accomplishment).
For Accomplishers: The first day of Navratra is the worship day of Bhagwati Shailputri. An ardent devotee and accomplishers keep fasting and make performance and accomplishment in various ways. For awakening of kundalini they try to awaken the Mooladhar Chakra. The accomplishers of Kundalini start Sadhna of awakening of the Mooladhar Chakra by making use of the wisdom gained at the lotus feet of Sadguru. The ardent devotee of Jagdamba Bhagwati (Maa Durga) make poojan of her Shailputr form and gaining her blessings they wish to justify their human life.
On the first day of Navratra, I wish to inform you that much about Mooladhar Chakra that planet Mercury controls over this plexus. Its world is earth. Its mother goddess is ‘Chamunda’, deity – Brahma, Tanmaatra – Substance, Element – Earth. Its place in body is two fingers & measure above the rectum and its area of effect is speech, the smell and the speed of the feet.
Any accomplisher can attain the desired results through the below-mentioned method of accomplishment.
The Way to Worship
First of all establish the idol or the photo of Maa Shailputri and the idol or the photo may be established over a stool after having spread a red cloth over it. Write the word ‘Sham’ (as written in Sanskrit) with saffron over the idol and put your desired wishes i.e. Manokamna Purti Gutika. Now taking red flower in your hands contemplate over goddess Shailputri. The mantra to be contemplated is as mentioned below:
Ya Devi Sarv Bhuteshu Prakritiroopen Sansthita,
Namastasya Namastasya Namastasysa Namo Nameh!
Vande Vaanchitlabhaya Chandrardhkritshelhraam,
Vrishaarudam Shooldharaam Shailputreem Yashaswanim!
Along with utterance of mantra, flower in your hands be offered over the idol of Maa and your bead of desired wishes. Now make Panchopchar Poojhan to pray for fulfilling your desired wishes. Poojan may be performed only after having lit the Deepak. If possible you can lit an intact Deepak it is really very important & giving excellent unfailing results to fulfil your desired wishes. Now Cow Ghee should be offered as oblation and recite the mantra of Maa Shailputri. Its number must be 108. The mantra is ‘Om Sham Shailputri Devye Nameh!’ After having enchanted the required number of mantras, express your desired wishes at the lotus feet of Maa Shailputri snd pray her for its fulfilment. Finally perform Aarti.
